Mikayel from Kyla’s class has volunteered to co-teach P.E. every Wednesday. Today was his first day and the 1st graders had such a wonderful time with him. He was helping them improve their underhand throw using the cue “Tick-tock step rock” and walking around to check on focus, cooperation and smiles. We are very excited to have this P.E co-teacher every Wednesday.
In our October PE Newsletter you will notice challenges listed for our students to practice at home related to our Throwing & Catching unit. In addition to practicing throwing and catching with your children, you have the opportunity to bond with them with a PE arts and crafts project to do at home- DIY Bean Bags!
- Glue gun & glue sticks
- 1 ziploc bag
- Dried beans/rice/corn
Click this link for directions and detailed images on how to Do-It-Yourself (DIY) Bean bags for at home throwing & catching practice. You may be able to find other resources online. Get creative with decorating and then have fun practicing our October PE Newsletter challenges, too! Enjoy!
